Vise Energy and Our Community
At Vise Energy Services Ltd., we recognize that every project we execute has an impact, whether it's right outside the doors of our head office or farther afield. We take the time to make valuable contributions that have a positive impact on the entire community. Some of our contributions include:
- A strict environmental policy, which drives us to choose equipment and processes that minimize our impact on the land and communities surrounding a worksite.
- A commitment to working with local crews wherever possible, bringing employment to communities throughout British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Core Relationship In order to be successful, our business requires competitive and progressive partnerships with clientele in the oil and gas industry. Internal core relationships (employer/employee) and external core relationships (engineers, inspectors, field personnel, technology providers and First Nations Members) will help us develop products, improve processes and procedures to keep our operations effective and efficient.
Indigenous Relations
An Opportunity for Teamwork & Friendship
The Vise Energy Services Team is committed to focusing on actions regarding our Indigenous Relations journey. History has taught us that there is much more to the story, and seeking to understand is the first step in learning, reflecting, and moving forward toward responsible reconciliation.
The opportunity for teamwork and friendship lasts well beyond the scope of a project. Part of that opportunity is actively investing in understanding life from a different perspective.
Asking Questions
We asked the question, "What can we do to be a part of positive change long after a project is complete." The answer is, "A lot, and it starts with learning and being willing to hear answers that are not what we were taught growing up."
We will continue to share and update our cooperative journey as we build positive relationships with the Indigenous Communities whose lands we work on and whose communities we interact with.
Indigenous Community Engagement
Vise Energy Services Ltd has committed to enhancing our Indigenous Engagement. We have recently joined the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB). We have several goals from this membership. We want to improve our Indigenous relationships and contribute to positive socio-economic outcomes through this network of Indigenous businesses. We have also applied to the Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) certification program through the CCAB.
This program is based on four pillars, Leadership Actions, Employment, Business Development and Community Relationships and validates our commitment, success, and impact. Our PAR performance will be externally audited to ensure Aboriginal relations are addressed as a part of our overall social responsibility prior to certification.
Over the next year, as we progress in our program development, our community relations, and our ongoing education, we hope to work with various stakeholders who are also committed to Indigenous Engagement, employment, and success for Indigenous businesses.
